The Design History Society Annual Conference is a prestigious, international event which offers a platform for an interdisciplinary approach to research and critical debate in design history. The proposal for the 2014 conference should be based on themes or themes which will serve to further these debates from both contemporary and historical perspectives on cultures of design.
The Design History Society works towards furthering global dialogues on design and warmly welcomes proposals from individuals and institutions that support and engage in teaching and research in design history. Recent and forthcoming conferences have been, or will be, hosted in Delft (2006), Falmouth (2008), Hertfordshire (2009), Barcelona (2011) and Brighton (2012). Information on past conferences can be found here
In addition to bringing your institution to the attention of the design history community, this event can also offer an opportunity for delegates to visit local collections and significant sites in the study of design history.
