gTar iPhone guitar hands-on
|
The gTar is a fully digital guitar that makes it easy for anybody to play music, regardless of experience. All you have to do is dock your iPhone in the body, load up the gTar app, and an array of interactive LEDs along the fretboard will show you how to play. You may be asking yourself what it means for a guitar to be “digital.” While most guitars have pickups to amplify the sound of vibrating strings, the gTar has none – instead, we’ve designed the gTar with sensors that detect exactly what you’re playing in real-time and relay each note to your iPhone, which then produces the actual sound. This makes it possible for us to do all kinds of exciting things, so let’s get into it! more on www.kickstarter.com/projects/incident/gtar-the-first-guitar-that-anybody-can-play
About de Author ///////////////////// IncidentBiography: Incident started out with Idan Beck hacking away in the garage of his parents’ house in Cupertino, CA. Over the next few years, we added four more to the wolf pack (Marty, Maly, Josh, and Franco) and as we grew out of the garage, we developed the gTar out of various spaces, including a renovated Icelandic ferry boat in Mission Bay, before settling into our offices in sunny Silicon Valley. Our backgrounds vary widely, but we share a passion for music, building new things, and getting creative. If you’re interested in learning more, don’t hesitate to reach out in the comments or via e-mail (info@incidenttech.com). This is the first hardware product we’ve built, but we’ve been working on the gTar since 2009 and have continually refined our designs into a finished product. Before starting this journey, our engineering team spent time working at large companies (Microsoft, Cisco) and have extensive backgrounds in building both hardware and software projects. |
