Bolivia is a South American country enjoying a central position with no less than five neighbors: Peru, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil.
Well known for having the highest capital city in the world (La Paz: administrative capital), its territory is deeply shaped by its geography. There are two main areas: the plains with a tropical or desert climate — depending on the region, and the high plateaus. The latter is called the Altiplano, varying between 3500m and 4000m in altitude, and boasts some of the highest peaks in the world. These two elements reflect in the culture and behaviour of Bolivians. Depending on the region, they identify themselves as «cambas» (inhabitants of the plains) or «kollas» (inhabitants of the highlands), each with very specific characteristics and identity.

A cash prize of € 20,000 will be awarded to winners selected by a well-renowned jury made of, among the others, Anish Kapoor, Rudy Ricciotti, Edoardo Tresoldi, Dagur Eggertsson, Alfonso Femia, Aldo Cibic, Marco Amosso (Lombardini 22), Luca Dolmetta (LD+SR architetti).

ARCHSharing, in collaboration with TECHO Paraguay, proposes the «Emergency Housing in Paraguay» contest. A contest that propose to response to the lack of access to housing in Paraguay, the aim is to offer residents a building that responds to the emergency situation while guaranteeing their dignity and their right to a suitable home. The laureate will have the opportunity to build his/her project with the humanitarian association TECHO Paraguay.

Un espacio para el encuentro de aquellas y aquellos intere- sados tanto en indagar en la Literatura en búsqueda de la arquitectura contenida en la palabra como en escudriñar en la Arquitectura que ha considerado la palabra como uno de los recursos disponibles para manifestarse y la ha utilizado como uno de sus materiales de construcción. Casas de citas se ocupará de analizar los lugares que están fuera de lugar: es decir, de asomarse críticamente a los escenarios, a los sitios intrusos y a las situaciones que los activan, de preguntarse por las arquitecturas extraviadas entre los verbos y por las construcciones de/en la acción.

The proposed site invites you to rethink what is necessary to create an atmosphere where technology should not have any role where the talks “face to face” are the predominant element, where we can relax listening to a musician playing the guitar, having a coffee or making an improvised picnic.
Since the need to renew damaged areas by human intervention, we try to promote new ways of intervening in these spaces from a more sustainable view. The contest, called Carrara Thermal Baths, looks for two concept: RE-NATURALIZE and RE-STORE. Let’s think for a moment. How can our actions contribute to nature? That’s what the contestant must investigate and propose.
Del 18 al 21 de noviembre tendrá lugar la 13ª edición del Foro TNT Lighting Detectives que este año tiene como escenario protagonista Ciudad de México. Durante cuatro días, diseñadores de iluminación de todo el mundo analizarán a pie de calle las luces y las sombras de la capital mexicana. Entre el elenco de participantes se encuentran personalidades como Kaoru Mende, Uno Lai, Ulrike Brandi, Charles Stone, Reiko Kasai o Gustavo Avilés, uno de los organizadores del presente evento.
